Hi Tweets -
I watched the same flight of the Great Egrets that Carl reported. A
bit before noon, I checked out the pond Carol mentioned yesterday -
no egrets there, but it looks like a great place. Between visits
yesterday at dusk and today at noon, I've seen or heard Yellow
Warblers, Green Heron [2-3], American Bittern [a couple booming at
dusk] & Virginia Rail.
After missing the egrets there, I entered the Kent Ponds area via the
southern trail off Russell Road. One of the Great Egrets was in a
pond by the observation tower. It flew up and was quickly joined by
the 2nd GREG who circled a bit then headed north.

I drove up to the Boeing Ponds, where the 2 egrets were hanging out,
lurking in the reeds.
Also at Boeing were a good set of shorebirds:
5 Long-billed Dowitcher
1 Western Sandpiper
1 Least Sandpiper
1 Solitary Sandpiper
1 Greater Yellowlegs
2-3 Spotted Sandpipers
[probably some Killdeer too, somewhere]

Before coming home, I stopped down in Auburn and saw that the Black
Phoebe is still present on the M St. spot. A few peeps were out on
the muddy pond here, but I was scopeless so I couldn't get beyond
'peeps'.

Good birding,
