Hello All
Today on the Foothills Trail in Pierce County, the highlight was a dark
morph adult Swainson's Hawk which gave me a nice view as it soared over the
town of South Prairie. I had a light morph about 3 miles west of here on 28
April 2004. Other good birds seen today: 2 Lazuli Buntings and the Tundra
Swan which continues to rest in the REI wetland. Yellow Warbler and
Black-headed Grosbeak numbers have quickly doubled, and the first few
Swainson's Thrushes of the season were calling loudly.
