Hi Tweets,

I guess it may not be totally official and I suppose I should have used the
word probable given that I didn't ever see the gray undertail coverts.
But..... this morning I had two brief but decent looks at a Eurasian
Collared-Dove on a wire near the trailer area of the Point no Point
Boathouse. The Doves size, distinctive neck collar, tan back & wing
coloration with contrasting dark primaries and square tail would be right
for Eurasian Collared Dove. I only received a side view and a back view so I
was not able to see the underside of the bird and the gray undertail
coverts.

It flew toward the beach and Vic Nelson and I were not able to re-locate it
during an hour search. I bet it is still in the area. Although Vic was not
able to add the Eurasian Collared-Dove to his yard-list. We did climb up on
his roof to scope out a Solitary Sandpiper to add to his life yard-list. It
was out in a small muddy opening in the grassy marsh. I believe this was #
233 for his total yard-list. That is amazing!!

It was a fairly active migrant morning at the point. Good numbers of Western
Tanagers were moving through the trees, but I found myself preoccupied with
trying to relocate that darn dove. Too bad, because they will probably be
all over the place in a few years.

Cheers,
