Well I am going to have to go back to Nov. 24, 1982 at the Lotteta Oxbow on the Eel River, Humboldt Co, CA. While at college I was working for a Grad student conducting avian surveys on a Old Growth Riverine Forest. I remember it well and I am sure I will on my death bed as well. I was working a transect and looked back down the transect, throughout the forest the canopy was closed and it created a dark and dim view, and a male prothonotary warbler came flying at me as it worked it's way through the trees. It was just like looking at a yellow light bulb, totally fantastic. I will never forget that bird.
