This morning there was good movement of migrants at Bassett Park.

The most disturbing thing was finding the large tree at the west end of the parking area was cut down. This tree had to be between 50-100 yrs old. I did run into the person who maintains the park and asked why they had cut down the tree. He said it was encroaching on the lines (power?). I commented that the tree could have been trimmed and not cut down. He said he was not happy with the decision but the City Council had decided on it.

Now what did I see.

orange-crowned warbler 7
dusky flycatcher 1
warbling vireo 9
ruby-crowned kinglet 4
Nashville warbler 4
yellow-rumped warbler 7
Cassin's vireo 1

western wood-peewee 1
Hammond's flycatcher 1
Townsend's warbler 1
yellow warbler 4

Bullock's oriole 1

Happy birding
