After reading Matt's note about rails and sora (or is that soras?) at the
Fill, I note I've never seen them, and I wonder if I'm just not patient
enough?

I've tried going to the likely areas and sitting or standing quietly for 15
or 20 minutes; is that not long enough? Or does one just have to get lucky
to see them?

Last time I was there I had a TERRIFIC look at a cock pheasant, he knew I
was coming, and was bracing to do that "explode out of the grass at your
feet and give you a heart attack" thing they do, but I stopped about 15 feet
shy and raised my glasses slowly and he just stayed, poised for flight. It
was a gorgeous moment. I turned around and left him; I wonder if he was
disappointed?
