Today's Central Basin Audubon field trip for International Migratory Bird Day enjoyed sunny skies and no dust storms. A leisurely meander through Columbia NWR and nearby areas produced 85 species even with a slow day for passerines and shorebirds. Notable were two Lewis's Woodpeckers at the Corfu Woods and a Clark's Grebe at the Para Ponds. I still have 3 Golden-crowned Sparrows in my yard in Othello (4 last night and a Western Tanager not seen at all today.)
