Hello All,
This is two reports. Yesterday evening (12 May) we joined fifty other folks
in on the Blue Mountain Audubon Fieldtrip to Tom Lamb's Hummingbird
extravaganza and here are the numbers.........

Calliope Hummers...........75 + birds with it roughly a 60/40 split males to
females.

Rufous Hummers.............10+

Black-chinned Hummers..3-5 birds, just starting to come in so next weekend
should be prime.

Bullocks Oriole..........1 bright male
Chipping Sparrows......3 birds
House Wren..................2 birds
Vaux's Swift..................5-7 birds

Today (13 May) we birded up the North Fork of Coppei Creek east of Dixie,
Walla Walla Co. and observed the following species..........

Warbling Vireo.........5+
Casein's Vireo............3
Yellow Warbler..........20+
Nashville Warbler.......14
Wilson's Warbler..........3
Yellow-rumped............2
MacGillivrays Warbler..7+
Orange-crowned Warbler..15+
Yellow-breasted Chat....1
Hammonds Flycatcher..3
Western wood-pewee....1
Calliope Hummer..........3
Coopers Hawk...............1
Pileated Woodpecker......3
Northern Pygmy Owl......3 birds with two on territory.
Lazuli Bunting.................2
Fox Sparrow......................12+
Say's Phoebe.....................1

That is it for now. Spectacular weather and loads of migrants. We are still
missing Catbirds, Veery, Black-headed Grosbeaks to name a few. Please if you
bird in Eastern Washington let a local person know what you see for the
