Hello all,
Yesterday while Mike was talking about wind power to journalist I birded
Tyson ponds. Very windy but still lots of birds.
Blue-winged Teal - 9 birds #200 for the county year list!
Cinnamon Teal - 18
Am. Avocet - 15
Black-necked Stilt - 21
Wilson's Phalarope - 9
Long-billed Dowitcher - 25
Lesser Yellowlegs - 1
Baird's Sandpiper - 1
Dunlin - 2
Killdeer - 6
Caspian Tern - 2
Ruddy Ducks - 16
Lesser Scaup - 4
Lots of Gadwall, GW Teal, Redheads, Shoveler, Mallards, Yellow-headed
Blackbirds and 40+ ravens.
Up 9-mile canyon was a Lark Sparrow - #201 for the list.
#202 was a Gray Flycatcher up s. fork Russel Creek in S. E. WW.
Today the Western Wood Pewee at Coppei Creek was #203.
We have had several Black-headed Grosbeaks contrary to Mike's report.
All three species of hummers fighting over our feeder this evening - the
Black-chinns have arrived!
