Hello,

What color are they, golden? They might be Carp since they breed in the shallows this time a year and thrash around. Thats how they hunt them, its legal to use bow&arrow on Carp. Look for some pics on the net of Common Carp and Grass Carp. Grass Carp were introduced to control aquatic weeds, Common Carp for fishing.

BTW, the pie-billed grebe is still there with at least one striped grebeling.
