Tweeters,
Pleasant north breeze, some high clouds, and heading toward yet another
minus tide at Turning Basin #3. The N. Oxbow parking lot Ospreys have
gotten a lot of attention by Boeing folks, and we're on our way to
getting a camera set up (long-lens), with (I hope) plans for a web cam
next year. Broadcast will be strictly internal, though. The Hamm Creek
pair were loafing (preening on the power tower for him, and sitting on
the eggs for her) when the N. Oxbow male sent cruising downstream
through the Hamm Creek territory. A quick squabble, and the Oxbow bird
kept crusing northward.

Speaking of the Oxbow male, he was displaying yesterday --
roller-coaster with legs dropping after the dive and rise, then doing it
again. The direction seemed odd -- from TB3 NE toward Boeing Field.

Looks as if a Red-winged Blackbird has taken up territory on the east
side of the river. I thought it was just a fluke that one was here the
other day, but apparently not.

Bird of the day: Northern Flicker - calling and flying near the
restoration peninsula. First here for the year.

Birds seen during this scan:
Canada Goose (16, with two very differently aged goslings - 5 large, 3
small)
Mallard (7)
Bufflehead
Great Blue Heron (3)
Osprey (4)
Glaucous-winged Gull (8)
Rock Pigeon (18)
Northern Flicker
American Crow (5)

Cliff Swallow (many)
Barn Swallow
European Starling (2)
Song Sparrow
