Having the rest of the day off, naturally I went to look for the Egrets. I am excited that they came to King Co. I started at the Boeing Ponds at about 2 pm. I found them right away, I believe I saw two, but lost track of the first one.

The shorebirds I saw here were Spotted Sandpipers and Killdeers. A birder with a spotting scope kindly showed me a pair of Pectoral Sandpipers, the best look I have had at any so far.

Next I walked south along the Green River to the Kent Ponds. Ahter walking around the interior area I went around to the south side. Along the paved trail I came across a pair of Bullock's Orioles, the first I have encountered at the Kent Ponds, though I imagine they are regulars here. I saw the Swan at a distance, it was very large and hanging out with Canada Geese at the north end of the ponds. It was too far away to tell which kind.

For a parting shot I saw a flyby of three Greater Yellowlegs, shrieking as they flew overhead.

All in all a good day!
