Tweets,
I've had a few bad days at work, so today I decided I
needed to Go Birding instead of Going Postal ;)
So, I went and chased some of the birds that have been
seen locally lately.
Started at Stillwater, picked up a pair of Western
Bluebirds, and Bank Swallow, and NRW Swallow. Also
saw a First-of-Year Swainson's Thrush, PS Flycatcher,
and W. Wood-PeeWee.
Went over to Juanita Bay Park, Pair of Purple Martin
hangin out near the Gourds, LOTS of Virginia Rail in
the rushes. Could not find a Sora. Carp jumpin
everywhere in the shallows. And a River Otter.
Down to Boeing Ponds, 4 Greater Yellowlegs (one with a
bad foot!, Ouch), at least one Great Egret, lots of
Spotted Sandpiper. Could not locate the Pectoral
Sandpipers (missed them twice now!)
South side of Kent Ponds (GRNRA), Flock of about 8 LB
Dowitcher flew in then out, Few Spotted Sandpiper
around, and the Lazuli Bunting flew in next to the
tower after the rain slowed down ;) Too rainy to hear
the Chat if it was around, darn it!
There were Masses of Cedar Waxwings everywhere I went
today, and lots of A. Goldfinch. Picked up 5 King
County Firsts, dipped on 3 others I was trying for,
and did NOT go postal ;)
It was a good Day.
