Diann and Tweets,

Olive-sided Flycatchers arrived at my yard in Federal Way last Thursday 5/18. One of my favorite birds at this was the first birding by ear song I learned to recognize. My husband Mark also was at Owens Beach in Point Defiance Park, Tacoma on Saturday5/20 for a kayaking festival. He said Pacific-slope Flycatchers were singing all over the place.

enjoy the spring birding,

Today, there was the first olive-sided flycatcher (that I've seen
this spring) calling from a tall fir. I've heard no tanagers here
yet; perhaps I'm spending too much time on the computer instead of the yard.

Cheers, Diann
