There is a female Hooded Oriole visiting a backyard and feeder in Port
Angeles. Alan Watkins, the homeowner (and also a birder who
participates with the Sequim-Dungeness CBC and Clallam Co. spring bird
counts), says the bird showed up yesterday and was still present at
times throughout the day today (5/24). Judy Mullally and Mary Robson,
two Port Angeles birders, spotted the bird at the feeder this afternoon
and confirmed identification.

Alan also took photos that look very good. The bird clearly has a
decurved culmen and is yellowish all the way down its breast, belly and
undertail coverts, although there is some grayish under the wings onto
its sides. It's definitely not a Bullock's.

The home is at 2308 Cherry Street in P.A. Alan says it is fine if
people want to come see the bird, but please be discrete and
respectful, as always. The oriole spends time at and near the feeder
hanging from an apple tree in the backyard.
