Hi Tweeters, am planning a 10 day trip to Guatemala in July and would
appreciate any info on birding spots and resources (I have a Costa Rica bird
guide and just ordered the Howell guide). Also, did you go on your own or
did you have guides? Great lodging or restaurants? We are not planning on
renting a car.

I've been in contact with someone from the Guatemalan Birding Center in
Quetzaltenango and they are looking for donations of field guides (North
America for the migrants - especially in Spanish) and binoculars to use in
their education programs. I'd be willing to haul some (a few - whatever will
fit in my backpack) donations down if anyone has some old bins or field
guides they want to donate to a worthy cause. Amy
