Hey Tweeters,

When was the last time you stayed in a clean, quiet, comfortable room
for under $60? I'd be interested to know the names and locations of
lodgings like this around the state. On a recent trip to the
Yakima/Walla Walla area (available rooms were over $100 for the popular,
event-filled weekend we accidentally had chosen), I was stunned and
ecstatic to find just such accommodations for $44/night at the Budget
Inn in Pasco. Obviously a trucker's place, we had gas for $2.99/gallon,
a truck stop restaurant, and travel supplies just down the road.
Fabulous. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any connection with these
businesses--I'm just a happy consumer. Oh, we even got a refrigerator
in the room at that price! An available microwave was near the night desk.

Let me know about others.
