Subject: [Tweeters] Dead sparrow ID help

Hi Tweets, I didn't realize that ID'ing a dead bird would be more
difficult then a living one. Anyway here is the story I found a newly
dead sparrow in my backyard. After careful examination I believe it
is a Lincoln's sparrow. If I am correct it particularly stinks
because this would have been a new yard bird for me.

I believe it is a Lincoln's sparrow because of the buffy brest band,
darker grey head markings and the lack of a defined chest spot like
the Song Sparrows that are common in my yard.

I took some photos if you can look and confirm my ID or not that would
be great. Photos are at:

On a related but somewhat different topic what should I do with the
body. I put in on ice and assume that I could donate somewhere. And
I don't want to violate any laws etc.

Cheers
