Tomorrow is the end of the feasting at my house................
Well, I hate doing it but they are hitting windows, and chasing all my nesting birds off. Besides, the Band tails have really caused a lot of problems (and are the main reason my Grosbeaks crash into my windows). They come in huge flocks (30 or so), and although I have all but two feeders now set to where they cannot get to the seed, they still try; and wreak havoc in the yard.
So today is the last day, tomorrow most of the feeders they are using come down, and ALL my regular feeders go back, with my cages on them. I had taken them down to make room for the onslaught of Grosbeaks.
Even my female Black-headed Grosbeak hardly dares to venture into the yard, settling on the suet logs instead; where she isn't too successful in getting food (they are in cages as well).
So now we can all move on and get down to regular stuff, and worries.
My Douglas Squirrel has started coming, but doesn't look like she is expecting yet. Usually she appears when in full bloom, and after the babies are born. She has her way of being demanding, and I need to pay more attention to her now!
