Subject: [Tweeters] Great-tailed Grackle with a not-so-great tail

Hi Tweets,

I was in the Spokane area over the weekend and yesterday I went to search
for the reported Great-tailed Grackle in the Liberty Lake area. He was
vocalizing so he was not too difficult to locate. I found him near the
corner of Molter and Sprague, a block east of Liberty Lake Road. I believe
this has been his traditional location near the golf courses. The grackle's
tail is quite ratty-looking. He was constantly being harassed by male
Brewer's Blackbirds. They obviously have been pecking at the grackle's rump
and tail feathers. Apparently the big bully is not liked during breeding
season.

Cheers,
