Hi Tweets-

I spent a nice weekend backpacking on the coast from Third Beach to Toleak
Point. The forest was packed with neo-tropicals - Wilson's Warblers
(tons!), Swainson's Thrush, Western Tanager, Pacific Slope Flycatcher. A
lot of locals singing too - Brown Creeper, Song Sparrow, Winter Wren,
Golden-crowned Kinglet, Stellar Jay. There were Am. Robins everywhere on
the beach. It was funny to see robins anywhere but in a yard. All along the
beach perched in trees, on seastacks, or soaring were Bald Eagles.



Of note on the beach were:

7 Whimbrel

2 Caspian Tern

3 Black Oystercatcher

15 Brown Pelican

8 Pelagic Cormorant



I missed a few when the binos were packed away - one loon, one hummer, one
small raptor I couldn't ID. Even if you don't stay the night, a day trip to
bird this area this time of year is highly recommended.
