Hello Tweeters,

Being birding slackers, my husband and I got our typically late start (11:30
am!) and drove over to Robinson Canyon. At about 8 pm we drove up the steep
road (4wd only or walk!) that leads north from the parking lot; we had only
seen one pair of Lazuli Bunting in the canyon, but there were several that
were easy to spot above the canyon, still singing at dusk, wherever there
was a significant patch of shrubbery. We got back to the parking area at
about 9:15; we heard a Common Poorwill singing. We drove slowly out towards
the gate and easily located three Common Poorwills, all hawking for insects,
illuminated by our car headlights.
