Re Ruddy Ducks Puget Trough AreaHi All:
Kent Ponds (Green River Natural Resources Area) had a small flock of 9 Ruddy Ducks on July 11, 2004. That number included a brood of two young ducks. But the following year in June 2005 we only had one Ruddy Duck. There were no Ruddies reported in late July, 2005. We'll watch for possible breeding Ruddies at Kent Ponds this year.

A small population of Ruddy Ducks breed on Whidbey Island so I suspect they're found elsewhere in the region.
