Tweets,

Matt Dufort's report of Sabine's Gulls on Sunday off of the Kingston-Edmonds
ferry motivated me to go investigate the waters of Central Puget Sound this
afternoon. Calm winds, sunshine and a teenage daughter wanting to go drive
the boat made it an easy decision.

On our way toward Jeff Head we had very nice water conditions and many 1st
& 2nd summer California Gulls (150 or so total) were working the rip lines.
Finally, just as we were about to turn around as we approached near the
Kingston-Edmonds ferry route we found a group of small gulls amongst the
California Gulls. I spent the next 20 minutes enjoying point-blank looks at
12 Sabine's Gulls (11 adults & 1 1st summer) and two Bonaparte's Gulls. My
daughter was more interested in sun bathing, although she did take interest
in the "little" male Red-necked Phalarope that we found as we started back.

It was a good boat ride.

Cheers,
