Hi Tweeters,

Yesterday on the way back from Wenas after a night in
a hotel in Yakima with computers I looked for some of
the sightings the Sullivans posted. I did see a
Clark's Grebe from the Ginko overlook park in Vantage.
It was with a Western and far away but the viewing
conditions were perfect to compare the two well enough
for me to be confident in the id.

At the Wanapum St Park I may have seen the Baltimore
Oriole. As I was heading toward the picnic area a
bird with a black head and orange body dove into a
thick shrub. I parked next to the shrub to wait to
see if it would emerge but I had to move on because
someone came up behind me. I never refound it. There
were a lot of Bullock's Orioles around in the main
campground. Several Common Nighthawks were active in
the morning here in daylight. I also saw a Great
Horned Owl get harrassed by about 6 crows and a magpie
that looked like it wanted to get close enough to the
owl to pull feathers.

It would be worth looking for it I think. I saw many
of the other sighting in the area the Sullivans posted
except for the Redstart. A great morning!
