Ned, I'm afraid I don't have a very good description: it was on a beach path
just east of Bowman Bay, where the (rather steep) slope of the bluff is
covered in mixed cedar and alder, with some rather marshy bits in between.
The bird was inside the trees and then flitted to the periphery for several
minutes before a busload of chattering tourists descending the trail drove
it away.

I was ready to just write it off as an empidonax and call it good when it
started singing; I've some experience with the complex and am calling this a
good sighting, but I was alone, so there's the possibility I goofed.

There's a name for that point east of Bowman Bay, but for the life of me I
can't remember it. I'll post this up to tweeters just in case someone else
wants to take a crack at it.

Just FYI, the dawn chorus in the DP campground is just about deafening; it's
a great year for birds up there, I guess!
