Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 1. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On May 26 there was a COMMON GRACKLE at Page Springs Campground. A COMMON
MOORHEN was seen May 27 along Hwy 20 in Burns. At least six pairs of
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES are now being seen in Burns.

A male CANADA WARBLER, an OVENBIRD, and a PURPLE MARTIN were seen during the
week at Malheur NWR Headquarters, and a LEAST FLYCATCHER was at Benson Pond.
Fields was much more active with BELL?S VIREO, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, EASTERN
PHOEBE, VEERY, and a very bright BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER reported.

During the week GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were reported from the North Spit of
Coos Bay, White City, Burns, and Fields. ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS were seen
at Cape Meares Village, Seaside, Camp Sherman, Fort Rock, and Fields.
MOCKINGBIRDS were seen at Bandon, Deans Creek, east of Reedsport, and at the
Smith/Bybee Lakes in North Portland.

On May 28 a flock of 22 BLACK SWIFTS passed Cascade Head north of Lincoln
City. A BREWER?S SPARROW was at Ecola State Park May 25.

At least six BLACK SWIFTS were seen May 28 over Baskett Slough NWR. A flock
of WHITE PELICANS were over Corvallis May 29. On May 28 there were two
WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS and two BLACK SWIFTS over Lower Table Rock in the
Rogue Valley.

On May 29 a LEAST FLYCATCHER was seen in Sherman County. An UPLAND SANDPIPER
was seen May 29 along Hwy 20 west of Hines. That day two were along Scotty
Creek Road west of Seneca.
