Hello, Andy and Tweeters,

The best place for Ruddy Ducks on the north Olympic Peninsula is Kah
Tai Lagoon in Port Townsend, where they are regular much of the year
and likely breed. They are an unusual species elsewhere on the north
Olympic Peninsula, although I wonder if there might be other hideouts
we don't know about.

Today (and late last night) my wife and I birded the dike along Ebey
Slough from the Fobes Road access. About a half mile down we saw two
drake ruddy ducks displaying to a hen ruddy duck.?Can someone tell me
if ruddy ducks breed in the?Puget?Sound?area and if this sighting was
in any way unusual? Thanks.
