Yesterday as I rode my horse Zeke over a crest at the end of a DNR
trail, I looked up to see the first of the Tundra Swans
arrive. It was unforgettable seeing their huge snowy white forms with
the pink glow of the sunset on their sides
just before they dropped down, assumably for a landing on Briggs
Lake. When I got back to the barn,
four more swans had landed onto Kingfisher Pond, Kingfisher Lane, west
side of San Juan Island.
