Hi Tweets -
I spent 4 hours this morning at West Point in Discovery Park,
watching the birds [and sailboat races] fly by.
Best bird of the day came a couple hours into the morning when a
juvenile BROWN PELICAN cruised by close in. It was headed south, so
hopefully it will pop up again down at Alki, Des Moines or Dash
Point....

Some other birds from the morning:

Parasitic Jaeger - surprised to have one still around, very brown
overall and chasing some gulls a ways off shore.
Merlin - one took off from the lighthouse and headed west across the Sound.
Peregrine Falcon - one was working the north beach a bit east of the point.
All 3 Scoters [only a couple Black Scoters]
All 3 Cormorants [only 1 each of Pelagic & Brandts]
Common Murre 1-2
Rhino Auklet - 1-2
Pigeon Guillemot maybe 4-5
The regular Sanderling flock had a few Dunlin with it during one fly-by.
Western, Red-necked & Horned Grebes
Also, Greater Scaup and Goldeneyes were back in small numbers.

And best of all, the rain held off for the entire morning!
