In the latest "North American Birds" (60:2), on page 248, there is a photo of a Cackling Goose between two Lesser Canadas. All of them have short, thick necks - that I used as an unofficial field mark for distant small canadas to call them Cackling Geese. It just shows whhat I don't know!
