Hi Tweets...I drove the back way from Ocean Shores into Hoquiam on Sunday at
about noon, just as the rain began. The tide was very high and I stopped at
a few places overlooking the river/harbor on Moon Island Rd/5th St. to look
at the large number of ducks taking refuge in the high waters.

I also saw a few floating logs (just west of S & S Roofing) lined with
shorebirds...too far to get a good I.D. and I didn't have my scope. At a
nearby driveway there were 3 trees literally hopping with Pine Siskins!
Other than one lone bird at one of my feeders last week, this is the first
siskin sighting I have seen in two years. I estimated 60 birds were feeding
on the small seed cones on the trees. It was good to see that many.
