Since Dennis Paulson mentioned his sighting, I will go
ahead and post this notice as a heads up. In the near
future I will be getting flyers from the USGS Alaska
Science Center that will solicit input from local
folks about sightings of birds (particularly crows)
with abnormal mandibles as part of their study of this
problem. I volunteered to post flyers in my area and
also to alert other birders in the Puget Sound area to
the study. If anyone on the list is also willing to
place flyers out there (Audubon offices, libraries,
etc.)let me know. I am not sure when the flyers will
arrive, but I will let the list know when I do receive
them.
