Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 9. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On November 4 a possible CURLEW SANDPIPER was reported from Jackson Bottom
in Hillsboro. A CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR was on the North Spit of Coos Bay
November 3. On November 5 a male TUFTED DUCK was on the Philomath Sewage
Ponds..

Good numbers of TUNDRA SWANS moved into the state during the week.

The baited birdseed at Millicoma Marsh at Coos Bay has attracted a HARRIS?S
SPARROW, CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, SWAMP SPARROW, and at least three
WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS. On November 7 a TREE SPARROW was there. On November
7 a LONG-TAILED DUCK was on the Coquille River near Bandon. Another was seen
that day near the North Jetty of the Siuslaw River. On November 3 over 6000
WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were off Boiler Bay. On November 8, 600 RED-THROATED
LOONS, 100 PACIFIC LOONS, and 300 COMMON LOONS were there. A CATTLE EGRET
and an EMPEROR GOOSE are now being seen near the Astoria Airport along
Airport Road.

On November 4 over 800 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS were at Smith/Bybee Lakes in
North Portland. A HARLAN?S HAWK was at nearby Force Lake that day. On
November 5 a SWAMP SPARROW was at a southeast Portland feeder. A PACIFIC
LOON was seen November 4 at Willamina. Up to 40 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES
was reported November 8 on top of Marys Peak in the Coast Range. A
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER and a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW were seen November 4 at
Foster Reservoir near Sweet Home. On November 6 over 20 WHITE-TAILED KITES
and six NORTHERN HARRIERS were at Royal Avenue at Fern Ridge Reservoir.
