I forgot to mention that there was a Fox sparrow working the duff at Pritchard Beach wetlands yesterday afternoon, the first of the season.

If you've not visited this location you're missing something special. It's one of the loveliest reclamation projects I've ever encountered, and thanks to the Starflower Foundation, work continues. The birds appear to be finding it, too. This year I've added a good number of new visitors to my list there, including a Spotted Sandpiper working the mud by the fresh water pond, Northern Harrier, Western Flycatcher, Warbling Vireo, Wilson's Warblers, and Hermit Thrushes.

Pritchard Beach is located at 8400 55th Ave So in Seattle, just north of Rainier Beach. Go to

for a map.

More information about the reclamation project can be found at: http://online.caup.washington.edu/courses/larc433/Pritchard%20Beach/casestudy.htm
