Hello All,
This morning we departed College Place amid increasing wind on a sunny
morning. Birds of note were.....

AMERICAN AVOCET........1 basic plumaged bird at Bennington Lake-took photos.
This is now our record late date for this species in this county. Observed
feeding on small water snails along the shoreline.
American Pipit........................75+ along Frog Hollow Rd.
KRIDERS RED-TAILED HAWK...1 ad. bird along Beet Rd.-took a photo of this
locally very rare race.
Prairie Falcon...........................1 ad. at Iowa Beef ponds
Yellow-headed Blackbirds........12 birds at the Tyson blood ponds
Brewers Blackbirds...................2200 birds at the Tyson feedlots
TRI-COLORED BLACKBIRDS...2 ad. males in the Tyson feedlots-very rare in this
county. New for the year # 235!
Tundra Swans............................12 birds on Casey Pond
Barn Owl....................................1 bird on Dodd Rd.
Hybrid Goose-Canada X Blue morph Snow cross at McNary HQ display pond-took
photo
Prairie Falcon..............................1 ad. over the Peninsula HMU
Western Grebes...........................25 birds at Strawberry Island-Snake
River
Common Goldeneye....................37 birds at Strawberry Island-Snake
River
