Hi Tweeters,

In between errands a few nice sightings.

Yesterday at the mouth of the Cedar River in Renton
the water is very high but in front of the Kayak
Center were both Common and Barrow's Goldeneyes very
close in. My first of fall and it was very pleasing
to see them together during a rain break. Also a very
active Spotted Sandpiper was running all over the
floating logs, then flew.

This am on Frager Rd south of Meeker, just past the
very flooded Old Fishing Hole saw a tan striped
White-throated Sparrow. I totally missed these
sparrows last year so I was very happy to see one
finally. The majority of the mixed flock it was in
was Dark-eyed Juncos and Golden-crowned Sparrows. One
of the Juncos was a partial albino, a very striking
bird with a big white patch on the crown and another
white patch under the chin. It was way too active,
partially hidden, etc for me to even try for a picture
but this would be a neat bird to get a picture of if
anyone is up for the challenge. The flock was on the
river side across from a small business selling
materials like brick and fill.
