Subject: [Tweeters] Owls on Fir Island, Skagit County

Hi Tweets,

I made a few brief stops around Fir Island this afternoon, mostly walking,
but also keeping an eye out for birds. At the North Fork Access just after
sunset, I saw one Short-eared Owl and one Barn Owl, and there was Great
Horned Owl calling from the wooded hillside to the north. Also many
thousands (probably many tens of thousands) of waterfowl flying out over
Skagit Bay. There were huge dense flocks of them stretched out all across
the bay; no idea what the dominant species were.

Good birding,
