This afternoon a flock of 10,000+ blackbirds was using the recently harvested corn field immediately north of the CNWR shop along Morgan Lake Road, NW of Othello. I searched through maybe 10% that were close and estimated 5% yellow-heads, 0.5% tricolored, and the rest red-wings. I'm sure an examination of the flock would reveal some Brewer's and cowbirds, and maybe a rusty.

Last weekend there was a very large blackbird flock south of the Adams County fairgrounds along Reynolds Road (14th Ave in Othello) about a mile and a half south of Highway 26. That area has produced tricolors in the past also. The Para Ponds area hasn't built up much of a flock yet.
