Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 16. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A possible BAIKAL TEAL was reported November 11 off Hwy 101 south of
Seaside. A BLUE-WINGED TEAL and FRANKLIN?S GULL were also in the area. A
probable LONG-BILLED MURRELET flew past the North Jetty of the Siuslaw River
November 9. A BROWN THRASHER is now being seen along the Lorane Hwy at Fox
Hollow Road south of Eugene. The bright male FALCATED DUCK has returned to
the ponds at the RV Park off I5 in Coburg. A BLUE JAY was seen November 13
near the County Court House in downtown Bend. On November 11 an EIDER and
two SKUAS flew past Boiler Bay. A MANX-TYPE SHEARWATER was there November
14.

Very heavy southward movements were reported along the coast during the
week.

On November 9 a TROPICAL KINGBIRD was seen at McVay Park south of Brookings.
On November 14 a FERRUGINOUS HAWK was at New River. A SNOW BUNTING was at
the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay November 9.

An EMPEROR GOOSE was seen November 11 near Vancouver Lake. A probable
TROPICAL KINGBIRD was seen November 14 off Hwy 30 near Sauvie Island. On
November 12 a MOCKINGBIRD was at the Sandy River Delta. A SURF SCOTER was at
Oaks Bottom in southeast Portland November 9. A BLACK PHOEBE has returned to
the barn at the intersection of Livermore and Smithfield Roads in Baskett
Slough NWR. Two RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS were on the refuge November 11. That
day a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was at Fern Ridge Reservoir.

On November 14 a HEERMANN?S GULL was at the mouth of the Klickitat River at
Lyle, WA. On November 12 a COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD and two ANNA?S HUMMINGBIRDS
visited a Bend feeder. Two CALIFORNIA TOWHEES are now being seen along the
Link River in Klamath Falls. Recently two BOREAL OWLS were found near
Ferguson Ridge in Joseph. BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS and COMMON REDPOLLS are now back
in the Wallowa Valley.
