Hi Tweets:

About 4:15 p.m., today Thursday Nov. 16th, I was inside my house, about to pass into my kitchen, when something caught my eye. OMG! There's a Northern Pygmy-owl standing on my deck's railing. It is facing me. OMG! I watched as it looked around (perhaps seeing my parakeets through the glass doors?); it twitched its tail several times. It stayed there several minutes until flying a short distance to a small platform feeder then flying to a tall conifer in the back of the yard. This makes the third owl species I've seen or heard in my yard over many years. Years ago I watched as a Sharp-shinned Hawk clipped the glass patio door, attempting to nab a parakeet safely napping in its cage.
