Subject: [Tweeters] Tropical Kingbird 1st King Co record?

Grace and Tweeters,

I believe this is a first county record. The list for King County in
"Birds in Washington State: a county comparison" by Ken and
Laurie Knittle (published 2005) does not include Tropical Kingbird.
In fact, there are Tropical Kingbird records for only 7 counties
(Pacific, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Clallam, Island, Skagit, and
Snohomish) according to the same reference, and the majority
of sightings are from the outer coast of Washington. In BC,
nearly all records are from Vancouver Island, with only one
record from the Vancouver area.

Good luck and good birding,

Tweeters,

The King Co. list I'm referencing (it may not be the latest) does not show
Tropical Kingbird as having been seen before. Does anyone know if there has
been a previous recorded sighting? Otherwise this is a King County first.
Neat!

Thanks,

Grace
