Hi Tweets:
This afternoon, Nov 18 at Nisqually about 4pm, a few of us watched at least
one, and some saw two, SHORT-EARED OWLS flying low, and then flying high
over the big fields as you look west to McAllister Creek. And the
WHITE-TAILED KITE was perched in the same bush where it had been perched on
Thurs. On Thurs we had seen it in mid morning.
To see it, walk just west of the big parking lot, maybe 10 feet out on the
road to McAllister Creek. Then look north w/ your binos out a little to the
left of the Twin Barns. The kite seems to favor one bush out there. We
could see it well this afternoon. Even though it appears to be just to the
left of the Twin Barns, it's actually about 1/2 mile farther out, closer to
the Ring Dike. You can see it w/ your binos from near the parking lot, but
a scope helps a lot.
Yours, Carol Schulz
