I didn't discover until I examined my photos that an adult Black-
crowned Night-Heron we photographed at Reifel Waterfowl Refuge, W of
Ladner, BC, as a bill that's at least slightly abnormal, the upper
mandible slightly longer than the lower and crossing over it to the
left like a crossbill's bill. I didn't see the details of the tip
until I enlarged it on the computer. If anyone is conducting research
on these birds and would like a copy of a photo that shows this, just
drop a line.
