Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday November 22. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The Lakeside GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was seen again November 18. On November 16
three XANTUS?S MURRELETS and a PARAKEET AUKLET were seen off Boiler Bay. A
PARAKEET AUKLET was seen there again on November 22.

Very heavy coastal movements continued during the week mainly of loon,
scoters, CALIFORNIA and BONAPARTE?S GULLS. On November 21 about 165
RHINOCEROS AUKLETS were passing Lincoln City.

On November 17 a GYRFALCON was seen at Flores Lake, south of Bandon. In
addition to the HARRIS?S and other sparrows attracted to the birdseed drops
at Millicoma Marsh were 14 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
is now visiting a feeder in North Bend. On November 18 two ROCK SANDPIPERS
were at Seal Rock State Park and three were on the South Jetty of Yaquina
Bay.

On November 20 a PRAIRIE FALCON was at Ridgefield NWR. The BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON winter roosting site in North Portland now contains several
birds. On November 16 a CASSIN?S AUKLET was observed dropping out of the sky
at Hayden Island in North Portland. It was taken to the Portland Rehab
Center. The TROPICAL KINGBIRD off Hwy 30 near Sauvie Island continues to be
seen. There are now several hundred SNOW GEESE on the east side of Sauvie
Island.

Up to 13 PINE GROSBEAKS are now being seen on top of Larch Mountain, east of
Portland. On November 18 a WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL was seen there. A large
DUNLIN flock is now at Ankeny NWR. Four SHORT-EARED OWLS were there November
16. The TRUMPETER SWANS are now back in the Airlie Area south of Monmouth.
On November 18 about 70 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES were on Marys Peak.

On November 16 a PACIFIC LOON was on Ochoco Reservoir. A WHITE-WINGED SCOTER
was at Wickiup Reservoir November 18. On November 20 three TRUMPETER SWANS
were on Little Morgan Lake, near LaGrande.
