Tweets - we had glorious weather for the first two - very birdy - hours,
before it clouded up at 9:30 and began to drizzle lightly at 10:00. The
Rain didn't start until 11:45. There were only six of us to enjoy the
morning, which was a shame as there were birds to see. Our total species
count was kind of low (52), but the early birding was great.

Highlights:

Cooper's Hawk 3 sightings of an adult
Northern Harrier One over the boardwalk
Merlin Flew in fast, taking a swipe at a Red-tail
Barn Owl Matt had one early over the East Meadow
Varied Thrush Male at Rowing Club
Fox Sparrow Many, including a FLOCK of 8-10
Wh.-throated Sparrow One with Golden-crowns near 2nd Dog Beach
Purple Finch Several gorgeous males

One very notable thing was the number of species SINGING: Bewick's Wren,
Winter Wren, Marsh Wren, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Song Sparrow, Fox Sparrow,
Dark-eyed Junco, House Finch.

The water level is still high, but down about 4" from last week. Still, you
need tall rubber boots to get anywhere in the southern half of the park, and
you still can't get to the boardwalk along the slough.
