Whidbey BobcatAlong those lines, I think we have in irruption of bobcats. I have had one in my yard 5 times in the past couple weeks (unincorporated Redmond). A buddy of mine has had them in unincorporated Carnation aa number of times as well during this period (including a mother and cub together). Always when I don't have the camera ready, though :(

A friend of mine spotted a bobcat along Taylor Road outside of Oak Harbor , the 1st confirmed Whidbey Island big cat that I recall. There was a reported mountain lion on the south end a few years ago that was never confirmed. I'm having my friend write up the details for the State folks.
There have also been a couple of porcupines sighted recently. An irruption of porcupines? A pin cushion of porcupines? A pricking?
