Hi Tweets -

Went to Ballard Locks today to see what the big lock looks like when
it's completely drained for maintenance - that in itself would have
been interesting enough, but when looking back at the geese lounging
around on the north lawn area, we saw a BROWN PELICAN sitting off to
the side, apparently enjoying the sunshine on a chilly afternoon. This
was about 1:30pm. Talked with some of the staff, one of whom had been
there 13 years and had checked the records (he wasn't sure how far back
the bird records go....) - their consensus this afternoon was it was
the first BROWN PELICAN recorded there. Wish I'd had a camera
along.....

Does anyone have info regarding BROWN PELICANS in Seattle?

Good birding!
