Delighted to have some information that might help you Vicki!. I'll give a brief report here for all the Tweeters readers and I'll send you more at your own addy. My friend Anne and I went on the International Expeditions trip to the Peruvian Amazon a couple of years ago. We took the extention to Machu Picchu and we got a couple of bird guides on our own. The Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel has extensive grounds in the cloud forest, with trails and walks. It has everything from waterfalls to petroglyphs and they do guided tours (birding, orchids, etc.) We got our own guide and spent one day with him and also took some of their tours. He wasn't the best guide, but we saw a lot. There are hummingbirds galore. http://www.inkaterra.com/machu-picchu-pueblo-hotel/index.htm

Then we took Manu Nature Tours http://www.manuperu.com/index.htm to their Cloud Forest Lodge. This involved a 7 hour drive over the Andes. It was wonderful, the guide was great. He also took us a couple of days around Cusco, to wetlands, etc. Betty (Ocean Shores)
