Visited that Salt Creek Recreation Area west of Port Angeles while on the Olympic Pennisula this weekend. This area apparently experienced very high winds recently. The access road to the day use parking for Tounge Point Marine Sanctuary is closed due to numerous large trees that were blown down. Be prepared for some deadfall hopping if you're going to try and wander out to the point. Nothing unusual bird-wise, but Bonaparte Gulls and Harlequin Ducks were present. Tide was up and no shorebirds were observed.
